Finding the best online surveys that pay through PayPal can be challenging. There are a million paid survey sites and it is hard to distinguish between scam and legit online survey websites. However, free paid surveys are a great way to make money in your spare time.
You can fill out surveys easily while watching TV or during your commute. The payout of online surveys that pay through PayPal may not be great but it does not require a lot of effort. To make the most of your spare time, I have listed my favourite survey websites below.

How does making money from surveys that pay through PayPal work?
Making money from paid survey websites is simple. You sign-up for free, fill in surveys asking about your opinions, demographics, etc. and are paid for participation. These surveys are generally short, taking 5-30 minutes to complete.
Surveys are not going to make you rich but they are a low-effort way to earn cash. The reason survey websites can pay you is because your data is used for market research companies. Thus, by completing surveys, you also help companies to understand their customers better.
Some helpful tips
If a survey website asks you to pay for signing up, you should stay away as it indicates that the website is a scam. Equally, you should always look for reviews about a survey site before you sign up. Many websites let you complete surveys and then never pay you.
Another important point is to answer surveys honestly. It may be tempting to get through the survey faster by just clicking random answers. But believe me, the survey provider will not let you do this for long as it makes your data essentially useless.
Eventually, they will block your account and you will never see your earnings.
Surveys that pay through PayPal
Swagbucks is a rewards website that allows you to make money from many different tasks, one of which is surveys. There is a wide variety of surveys plus a few that will give you extra reward points when completing. Overall, the surveys are quick to complete and take no longer than ten minutes.
Cashing out with Swagbucks
The currency of Swagbucks is SB. One SB is valued slightly less than £0.01 with the exact value being dependant on your method of cashing out as well as the amount. Most tasks pay between 100 to 3,000 SBs.
Swagbucks offers the following options to to turn your SB into money:
- Amazon voucher
- Various gift cards
- Charity donation
Other than surveys, Swagbucks also offers daily polls. These are simple questions that can be answered with two clicks and you earn one SB.
If you like Swagbucks, you may also be interested in 20Cogs. 20Cogs works similar to Swagbucks but offers a better payout, although only for limited offers. Another attractive alternative is Sweatcoin which rewards you for walking or apps that pay for your shopping.
Surveys that pay through PayPal – LifePoints
|Payment per survey||around £1|
|Payout threshold||Depends on country|
|Survey frequency||4-6 per day|
|Cashout||PayPal, Amazon gift card, vouchers|
LifePoints boasts over 5,000,000 users worldwide and is one of the biggest survey panels. Apart from surveys, you can also join free contests that are usually advertised on their social media channels.
LifePoints is available in most countries, having recently added India and Singapore to its list, in 26 languages. Payment per survey and payout threshold vary between countries but are generally pretty good.
Apart from surveys that pay through PayPal, LifePoints also offers other ways to make money. One of these methods is keeping a diary to track your behaviour and experiences with a product. This is more time consuming than completing surveys but keeping a diary also awards more points.
The other method is product testing. Here, the company of a specific product will send you a sample that you can keep. In exchange, you are asked to write a review or provide feedback. Product testing is very popular so it is hard to get selected.
Like most survey websites, LifePoints will not give you a full-time income. Instead, surveys are small tasks that you can fill your spare time with. Per survey, you can expect to earn about £1.
Completing 100 surveys a month may be possible, so you could make £100 per month. Any more is probably not realistic. When it comes to payout method, you have a few options:
- Gift cards
Pros and cons of LifePoints
Lifepoints are a great free survey website as evidenced by their excellent Trustpilot score. Some other benefits include
- Screened out users receive sweepstake entries
- Their app allows you to complete surveys on the go
- Huge variety of surveys
- Quick cash out
There are no noteworthy cons associated with LifePoints. Overall, it is probably the most well-rounded of the surveys that pay through PayPal.
If you are only planning to join one survey website/app, I recommend LifePoints due to their variety of surveys and lack of cons.
Paid surveys review – Onepoll
|Payment per survey||£0.10-£0.20|
|Survey frequency||Lots of surveys available|
|Cashout||Paypal, BACS, cheque|
Onepoll is a UK-based company open to residents from most countries, even those excluded from other major survey sites. The platform has about 70,000 users and its clean design really stands out.
Apart from surveys, you can make money from Onepoll through bonuses. At the time of writing, they offer the following:
- £2.50 when you register
- £0.50 when you connect your Facebook account
- £0.50 once you complete ten surveys
- Competitions that award £25-£200
Pros and cons of Onepoll
Onepoll is a great survey site because
- The surveys are short
- There are many bonuses available for extra cash
- Generous friend referral scheme
- Very clean and user-friendly interface
The only disadvantage of Onepoll is its relatively high payout threshold. However, I feel with Onepoll you can reach this amount much faster than with other survey sites due to its generous bonuses and competitions on social media.
Free paid surveys – Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie is currently not available in the UK. It is only accessible to US, Canadian and Australian users.
|Payment per survey||$1-$3|
|Payout threshold||$10 (1,000 points)|
|Survey frequency||About one per week|
|Cashout||PayPal, GiftCard, Amazon gift card|
Survey Junkie is one of the older survey panels. They are also one of the biggest with over 10 million members. Unlike similar websites, Survey Junkie does not offer anything else than surveys. However, being specialised in surveys means that their service is optimised for it.
As Survey Junkie is well established, there is little reason to doubt its legitimacy. In fact, Survey Junkie has over 15,000 reviews on Trustpilot with 68% being excellent.
Pros and cons of Survey Junkie
There are several positive aspects of Survey Junkie:
- User-friendly interface and easy to use
- Excellent Trustpilot rating
- Low payout threshold
However the disadvantage is that users can be screened out of surveys. This means you may start a survey but not be allowed to finish it. Survey Junkie is also currently not available to UK users.
Make money with surveys: Viewsbank
|Payment per survey||£0.20-£3.00|
|Survey frequency||About one per week|
Viewsbank is one of the less well-known online surveys that pay through PayPal. However, that does not mean Viewsbank is not worth your time as the site has a low payout threshold and offers opportunities to earn additional money.
For example, Viewsbank also lets make money from them using your data for insurance quotes:
Whether you agree with this depends on how comfortable you are with them using your data. This may not suit everyone, but if it does this could be a source of passive income for you.
Pros and cons of Viewsbank
Here is what I like about Viewsbank:
- Very user-friendly and clean interface
- Users can make passive income from having their data used by insurance companies
- Users can also participate in and create polls allowing them to make some extra money
However, there are also some drawbacks of using Viewsbank:
- No friend referral scheme
- Some surveys reward you with a giveaway entry rather than cash
- Accounts reportedly get blocked sometimes for no apparent reason
