Why ordinary deodorants are bad for you
If you have looked at the ingredients of deodorant, you know there is a lot of strange stuff listed. Let us look at some of the ingredients that could potentially be bad for you:
Parabens preserve products but they are also may disturb hormone regulation. Researchers think that they can mimic oestrogen and thereby cause cancer.
Aluminium, in connection with other compounds, blocks the sweat ducts. Deodorants contain very little deodorant and its use is thought to be safe. But the fact that aluminium is linked to cancer and Alzheimer’s remains. So why expose yourself to something toxic (even in low levels) if you do not have to?
The role of triclosan in deodorant is to prevent bacterial growth. However, it can also damage your cells. While triclosan is safe according to some research, it is also banned in some product types and countries. Again, why expose yourself to something controversial if you do not have to?
Phthalates are regulators of viscosity. They are also easily absorbed by the body and may be able to damage the reproductive system.
