Apps that pay you to shop are a great opportunity to make some extra cash. When you are out spending money, you may as well also make money at the same time. This effectively means you are having more money for what is important to you.
Shopping is necessary to survive and also a hobby for many people. Yet the money we spend could often better be used for other purposes. With apps that pay you to shop, you can do both spend and save money at the same time.

Apps that pay you to shop
Airtime Rewards is my favourite money-making app. This is because it works entirely passively, meaning hardly any input is required. It is a cashback app that gives you money off your phone bill. Personally, I am using Airtime Rewards with Vodafone but it works with all major providers.
Airtime Rewards is free to use. To get your cash back, all you have to do is link your bank card to the app. You will then accrue cashback while shopping from selected retailers such as Waitrose, Boots, and more.
With its excellent user rating on Trustpilot, you can be assured that Airtime Rewards is legit. I have been cashing out with them without any problems.
When you sign-up to Airtime Rewards, you can get a bonus of up to £1.50 with my code BVPJVUG6.
Nielsen Scanning Panel
The Nielsen Panel is a market research organisation that is best known for its surveys. The Nielsen Scanning Panel is less well known but equally rewarding. You will be provided with a free scanner to scan in all your purchases.
The Nielsen Scanning Panel will then give you cash back on your purchases as well as monthly sweepstake entries. Different from other cashback services, you will be awarded points rather than cash. These points can be used to buy a great selection of items, such as electronics, jewelry, toys, etc.
Apps that pay you to shop – Swagbucks
Swagbucks (full review) is best known as a survey website. However, in reality, Swagbucks offers so much more than just surveys. It is a reward membership site that pays your completing various tasks. When getting started with Swagbucks, you should sign-up via their website and explore all ways to make money first.
Then, download the app and start making cashback.
The cashback will be paid to you in the form of Swagbucks (SB). You can then convert these to cash in the form of PayPal money, Amazon vouchers, or various gift cards.
Be My Eye
Be My Eye is a mystery shopping app. The company works with brands and collects data about their products in stores. Getting paid is easy:
- Register for a mission within the Be My Eye app
- Go to the store indicated by the app
- Answer the questions provided by the app and take pictures
- Get paid into your Be My Eye wallet and withdraw to your PayPal account
The missions vary. While sometimes all you have to do is take a simple picture, at other times you may have to interact with the store’s staff or buy a product. The more difficult a task is, the higher the reward.
Field Agent is a similar app to Be My Eye. You have to go out to the shops and complete small tasks for which you will receive a reward.
Jobs will be displayed within the app. Once you have accepted a job, you have two hours to complete it and let Field Agent know. The jobs are generally similar to Be My Eye i.e. you have to take pictures of store shelves, counting items on a shelf, etc.
Once you have cleared a task, you will be paid within 48 hours. You can then withdraw the money via PayPal or bank transfer. One job pays between £2 and £8 with the frequency of jobs being highly variable. Some days there may be nothing, on others, you will find more jobs than you can do.
